You can count on EarSense to find the perfect hearing aid to fit for your hearing needs, your lifestyle, and your budget.
What Are Hearing Aids?
Hearing aids are small electronic devices that fit around the ear and inside the ear cavity, and offer amplification that helps those with hearing loss experience better hearing.
All hearing aids are composed of 4 basic parts: microphones, a battery, computer chips and a receiver (speaker) that the audiologist or hearing instrument specialist will program to ensure the individual hears the way they want to.

Your Hearing Aid Fitting
Once you and your audiologist or hearing instrument specialist have settled on a hearing aid for you, the next step is to fit it to suit your hearing needs.
To make sure your hearing aids are giving you the right amount of amplification, your hearing care professional will perform a test called Real Ear Measurement (REM). During this test, a tiny microphone is placed in your ear canal to measure how sound travels inside your ear. This helps your professional see exactly how your hearing aids are working for your unique ear canal size and shape. They’ll then adjust the settings to ensure you’re hearing the full range of speech sounds clearly and comfortably. The right level of amplification is based on your specific type and degree of hearing loss.
Once the fitting is complete, your audiologist or hearing instrument specialist will review hearing aid care and maintenance with you. You will practice tasks like inserting the hearing aids and changing the batteries (if required) here in our office, so you'll know how to do it at home.
Adjustments & Repairs
It can be hard to tell if a hearing aid works for you until you've lived with it for a while. For this reason, we welcome our patients to visit us as often as they need to for hearing aid adjustments.
If, over time, you encounter a problem with your hearing aid, we're happy to help. We will examine your hearing device, offer you an honest assessment of its overall condition, and repair it for you, if possible.
